Skin care is a poorly regulated industry in this nation. The last decade I have awakened to the knowledge that what we put on our bodies is as important as what we put in our bodies. Numerous studies on frightening toxins circulating through the bloodstream have shown the need to spotlight cosmetic ingredients. Studies on these hundreds of chemicals also found in our babies’ cordblood have fired up my passion. All of us, but women in particular, need to learn to be cautious. Europe is far ahead of this nation on this topic and has banned 1328 chemicals from cosmetic products, while the US has only banned 11. Everything I use at Bloom follows EU standards or better. You will not find “fragrance,” a US catch all term that can hide hundreds of unknown toxins, used in our treatments. You can also feel safe with Bloom’s makeup and hair removal process of sugaring.

We are constantly bombarded with images of “beauty.” It would be an amazing thing if we could all say, no, that’s not my idea of beauty. I AM beautiful. My biggest heroes are the ones that radiate confidence, no matter what social norms are. Some of us need a little help finding that confidence though. Our faces are front and center, and when we feel dull, or blemished, or dry, some of us falter. A big beautiful smile on a client’s face when she feels how soft and smooth her skin is makes my day! Confidence IS beauty. Well, confidence and kindness and a whole host of other internal traits, but a girl can only do so much in an hour.

This world is chaotic. Work, parenting, school, dating, marriage, all the weight of the world, can be seen on the face. I have no desire to erase your laugh lines, but your worried brow, yes indeed. My hands will gently relax the muscles that hold your tension in your jaw, in your temples, and in your shoulders. Deeply inhaled aromatherapy will help you breath in and out your concerns. An hour of peaceful sanctuary can bring some much needed healing.
